Aside from the fact that it is crafted from one of the lightest/softest fabric and incorporates industrial leading stitching methods, the Aikido Gi has countless advantages over the heavy and non forgiving conventional "Orizashi" fabric which was considered the Standard of the past.

Our main goal for the production of the Ultra-Lightweight Softened Uniform was to provide the utmost comfort, all the while, having the ability to wick the sweat away from your body. It is a must for those long summer intense practices, or dreaded long seminars that have you stuck in a cold clammy Gi in between sessions.

Thanks to the technological advances in the fabric industry, the Ultra-Lightweight Softened Aikido Gi will not disappoint in terms of dry time for all of the hard-core Aikido-ka.

Just a warning though, once you try this Aikido Gi, you may likely have to part ways with all of your current Aikido Gi's!

This Gi is amazingly soft and super absorbent. However, I must agree with the earlier review. There may be a design issue regarding discoloring. After about six months of heavy use, it is starting to color in the armpits and collar. I think this is due to its quick drying characteristic; where sometimes it partially dries before I can get home and get it into the wash. Other than that, its been a great gi. I'm a very sweaty person and I know this would be even better on someone that sweats less.

I bought this Gi and the "Lightweight" in spring 2012 anticipating warm/hot weather training and seminars. I sweat a lot and was looking for a Gi that kept me cool, dry and dried quickly. Functionally this Gi met my expectations as promoted. It is very light, transported perspiration and dried faster than my other 4 other-brand Gi's. I also enjoyed how easily it ironed and always looked sharp. Unfortunately after half a year of training 4-6 times a week and 15 seminar days it began to discolor in the collar and shoulder area. What was once my favorite, is now my most functional but unsightly Gi. Maybe the problem lies in the material, since my other Gis are not discolored. Minus one star for the discoloring, minus one star for the price. Had I known this beforehand I would have rather bought 2 Lightweight jackets, they're also softer.
